generally you want a vpd of 1.0 for veg and 1.3 for flower and even these can flux by genetic somewhat.  As with any living thing and plants they will survive at certain temperatures and will thrive at others.  Mr. G provides all the ideal temps and RH for each in his book and it is a great baseline.  When temps are out of the range the plants will work harder and get stressed more.  VPD is the way your plants transpires.  A good analogy that I use to wrap my head around this…  Try running a 5k or a mile in 20 degrees vs, 60 degrees vs, 100 degrees and you will have vastly different experiences in total time and effort exerted.  So you run the 5k in 20 degrees but now you have frostbite on your hands and toes, where you ran the 5k in 100+ and have sun burn and and heat stroke and partially dehydrated as a result.  When you grow outside of the optimal VPD parameters it is possible but not the most advantageous as other variables that were not necessarily a problem become enhanced as a result.  Some will mitigate excessive heat with CO2 or in my case my lung room in the summer during the day is hotter than the evening so I have flipped my day and night schedules on the growlight to help with leaf and tent temperatures getting out of control.  Also in the winter I benefit from keeping my tents in the same room as my furnace as I get free heat in the lung room which helps to stabilize extreme fluxations in temps i.e. 10/15+ degrees  Hope this helps.

I have a 4×4 and have successfully grown 4 plants in 7 gal containers.  I will say it was tight and requires diligent attention on LST.  On the flip side, I have friends who only grow 1 at at time in a 3×3 with a 7 gal.  I personally maximize my space and time and in my 4×4 I have 4qty, 7 gallon fabric pots from AC infinity which you can see in my other recent post.  You are also going to need room for fans and potential humidifier / heat adjusting appliances but not sure on your setup requirements.  If it were me in a 3×3 with 7 gal pots 3 in a triangle would be ideal without knowing the strains(photo or auto) or types of plants you are growing…  Make sure that air is flowing and circulating when stuffing a tent.

I once again have pushed the envelope with in my 4×4 with 4 plants.  I am debating a throwaway plastic netting but leaning towards using some bamboo/plastic stakes with some garden wrap/ties and just rigging a setup as they stretch upwards in the next few weeks.

    2 questions:

Q1. In your experience if you had shooters that could not be LST and are growing ahead of others that would potentially grow into the light would you prune these with HST if within the first few weeks of flower or would you just leave it

Q2.    I am planning on pruning the larf and bud nodes that will not amount to anything.  When would you stop pruning while in flower?

    Thanks again for the assistance!

Yeah I watched your pod cast with Rob and Pigeons and got that vibe but it seems like information coming in from the Cannatrol crew like 70/55 as opposed to the 60/60 deviates from the norm, which made me me question the approach for validation.  I have the 62% and will get my hands on the the 58%.  I presume to still burp daily even with the 58% cure is done?  Thank you.

Okay so my RH/temp/dewpoint was very stable during the dry and I was at 10 days before the crunch and snap so I took my time on this.  I do not have the experience smoking actual true flower and have really just vaped for consumption so I was speaking generally and looking to those that are more experienced them myself.  I did watch vids and read your content on the cannatrol and I think it is a great machine albeit the size.  I do know my environment cannot stabilize like the Cannatrol unit for the longterm.  My RH is sitting right now around 58% as those black monitors are off a few % points.  I could either throw some fresh buds and keep the cure going to bring up the RH% or use a Boveda 62%.  If it were you and you had no cannatrol would you keep the cure going and add some bud or call it and pop in some a Boveda?  Thanks as always!

I called AC Infinity when using my fans and they say they are rated to run max 18 hour intervals and require a 6 hour rest for the best mix of use and life span.  I have all of mine on that schedule as a result.

Very nice growing so far!  Just adding some thoughts here as I just got done with my initial grow for the first time.  When using my grow light in testing for the first time temps jump upwards of 7-10 degrees in my 4×4, so much so I had to crack a side of my tent to keep temps at bay.  I do know Mr. G flips his day and night schedule as a way to battle growing variables temp, RH, VPD etc…  I am on the east coast and have done the same as I have an inline to bring in outside air which is much much cooler in the evening which helped tremendously.

Thank you.  You have been very helpful along the journey!  Update I wet trimmed as you can see in the photos above but I did not buck the buds and decided to leave everything on the plant prior to relocating into the drying tent.  I am in the NE and the next month or so it is going to be fairly controllable for humidity and temps which have remained consistent in the 60/60 range.  The stems I have cut are still super green and I anticipate another 4+ days before the stem snap to start the cure process.  I am checking once a day for any issues and ready for the cure.  I still have 3 plants 1 outside and 2 inside on the cusp of being ready for harvest.  I would like to try a hole plant cut dry with one of them but time will tell I guess.

I will leave out in open.  I have a fan blowing in the room and a dehumidifier on point.  I have the AC Infinity monitor helping me stay on top of temps and humidity levels. I did buy a SensorPush as I find the AC Infinity levels are off by upwards of 3 to 4 degrees or percentage points on humidity.

I presume that means she is good to go to harvest.  I wound up harvesting her today.  I did a wet trim followed by a bud wash.

First bin was hydrogen peroxide 2 cups to 10 gal – 1 min agitating and flipping

second bin was 1 cup of fresh lemon juice(yes I squeezed them lmao) and 1 cup baking soda to 10 gal.  15 to 30 seconds depending on what surfaces agitating and flipping

Last bin was 10gal of filtered water – 10 t0 20 seconds with visual inspections

They are sitting out of a dry tent as they need to dry a bit.  I have the room at 65 running at 58% RH and Dewpoint 53.4%

I cut off about 25 buts with botrytis and was excessively liberal, and I had a spot light and inspected each branch while wet trimming looking for any gray or molds.  This plant has less bugs on it then the ones in my grow tent I put in 8+ weeks back.  budwashingstation

I took Mr. G advice and went digital with my indoor setup which worked quite well.  The rest of the house…not so well.  These were from my outdoor but Mr. G wanted to see the full plant and buds so this is all I could get out of my cell phone.  It has been a rainy weekend for sure…
