We’ll be starting our 2nd grow in just a few weeks. Our last grow was 60% coco, 20% worm castings, 20% perlite. Three of the four plants did great, but our 4th plant became stunted and wasn’t taking up any water. When we harvested, the 4th plant’s roots were really packed with substrate (kind of looked like a soil bowling ball) and we figured this is why she wasn’t drinking. Did we use too much worm castings? Should we back it down to 10% and increase either the coco or perlite? PS: Her trunk was 3x thicker than the others. Thank you!!
Are you running a monocrop or have you got different plants? Seeds of the same strain can vary in size, stretch, consumption of nutrients and a bunch of other things.
Sometimes a plants just requires more feeding then others. There’s a chance it was overwatered and stunted at a crucial time.
Switch to real no till soil and throw the nutrient lines away.
