ParticipantSo I started a new grow after my first few plants failed. I ordered these from Seed Supreme. They are Gorilla Glue, Purple Kush and Do Si Do. I started them on December 10th, the Gorilla Glue took off the other two didn’t do so well. I tried them in water, after a week the purple kush didn’t even sprout a taproot and the do so do had a small taproot, but it broke when trying to transplant. I started two new ones in a paper towel and they did much better. I planted in Fox Farm Ocean Forest,
This picture is the gorilla glue, I repotted it on the 22nd.
This is the purple kush and do si do, I repotted on the 1st.
I used Ocean Forest in all the repots into 5gal fabric pots. I’m currently waiting on my auto pots to arrive.
So, when should I start feeding with nutrients? I’m using the FOOP system.January 9, 2025 at 8:42 am #4719mrgrowit
KeymasterWith FFOF (Fox Farm Ocean Forest) soil, they won’t need any additional nutrients until roughly 20-40 days of the plants life, depending on what size container they are in. If they were in 1gal containers, then nutrients would deplete faster than if they were in 5gal containers. From my experience, I’ve been able to get away with waiting 30-40 days when using FFOF soil in 5gal grow pots.

ParticipantI believe I’m at a point of cutting back some foliage, but I’m a little hesitant of how and where to begin. Here is my biggest plant now.
Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated!

KeymasterDid you mean to include a picture in your last post?

ParticipantYes I did. I did two attempts and neither one posted. So I will try again.
This is my biggest one.January 22, 2025 at 3:39 pm #4793Silenttip
ParticipantIt’s looking so far. No need to defoliate right now. Maybe in a week or 2. She seems to be stretching just fine.
If anything, you can top the plant if you want. When you defoliate, I take off the big fan leaves that are blocking bud sites oonly.hqve a look at my newest post the before and after defoliation. I didn’t take too much off. Hope this helps

ParticipantI meant to post this picture with the last post. For whatever reason, it didn’t post. This one is Gorilla Glue #4, I transferred it to a 5gal pot on December 22nd.
This is a side view.
Not sure where I should start trimming!January 30, 2025 at 4:28 pm #4815mrgrowit
KeymasterLooks like she is encountering some deficiencies. Do you happen to know what the pH and EC/PPM of the soil runoff is?

ParticipantSorry this is late, I tried sending a response twice, but for some reason nothing has went through. I’m using Auto Pots for my watering cycle and FOOP nutrients. I test the ph every time I fill the reservoir and I try to have it around 6.5. I tested a slurry sample and got like a 1246 EC. If that’s even right, as I did the test it kept climbing. The tester I’m using is a Apera PC60. My grow tent is a Vivosun 4X4X80. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

ParticipantSorry for the delayed response, I’ve been working a lot of overtime this past few weeks. I am using the AutoPot system for my watering, so I’m not really sure how to get a water run off test. I tried testing a soil slurry, and it came back at an EC of 1264ppm, I try to get my ph levels around 6.5 when adding water to the system. I’ve also been feeding with FOOP nutrients for the last two weeks in the AutoPot. I just noticed that some leaves are turning yellow, as you can see in the picture below. I think it’s a Nitrogen issue, what is your thought on this. Thank you for your time and your help!
