So I live in a humid hot climate. The Rh was in the 60’s temps around 75 during veg for my last attempt at a grow, so I bought a dehumidifier as all the information I have seen says you want the humidity to come down below 60 for flower. I set it up outside the tent, but it wasn’t able to keep the humidity low enough. I put it inside the tent and It was able to get the Rh down to high 40’s where I wanted it but temps in low 80’s. My harvest was very loose, dry/crunchy, leafy, some aroma or trichomes, but not a lot. Should I just remove the dehumidifier? Is high temp or high humidity worse in flower? I will plan my next attempt when its winter to try and help with the temp and RH. Thanks for any advice or responses.
Have you heard of VPD? Check out the VPD chart to see what the humidity should be for the temperature you’re running. For example if you’re in flowering and your temp is 80F, then your humidity should be between 44-62%.
Between high temps and high humidity, high humidity is generally worse in flower as it risks mold and mildew. However, consistently high temperatures also affect bud density, trichome development, and aroma.
