First timer with a few questions

Hello guys, first time gardener here.

I recently inherited a vivosun 2x2x4 tent kit from a friend, I got some seeds (2 Northern Lights #10 and a White Widow Auto by herbies) and took the plunge into the fascinating world of gardening indoors and I’m really enjoying my time here.

I started my first grow and through research I quickly realized that this tent may be too small for these 3 plants and ordered another vivosun kit that is 2×5.
I also did not know in the beginning of the grow what the auto meant lol and was not aware of the auto flowering and slightly different approaches to growing them. My plan is to use the 2x2x4 for the auto and my new 2×5 for the other two plants.

I started my seeds in solo cups using Fox Farm Happy Frog
All three seedlings sprouted on 10/13/25
I transplanted all three plants into 3 gal. containers on 10/26/25 using Fox Farm Ocean Forest on the bottom half and the top half is Happy Frog, I also used Mycorrhizae on the root zones.

I use distilled water that I ph down to about 6.0 ph. I use the finger method and lift my pots for the weight before I water and I water until I get some run off, check the PPM and PH. Last watering was on 11/10/25 the 2 northern lights were at around 600 ppm, and the white widow was sitting at 800, all with a ph. of about 6-6.5

I’m using a humidifier outside the tent and recently moved my inline fan and filter outside the tent as well so I can raise the light higher if needed.

My temps are stable at around 78-75 with the lights on and 72-70 when they are off, my humidity stays at about 56-60% at a 1.2-1.5 vpd

I’m on the start of week 3 of veg (I may have transplanted the seedlings a little early)

The only training I’ve done is topped all 3 plants (I also did not know topping autos wasn’t the best idea for my first time) and some leaf removal that I regret and stopped. lol

For nutrients I have the general hydroponics flora series with the 3 bottles. From what I’ve read, the soil I am using has 30 days of nutrients and I’m about there so I’m getting a little bit of anxiety about feeding them when the time comes. Is there a ppm level in my runoff after watering that I should go by before feeding? or just go by the 30 days and feed them a small amount?

 

I may have had the light turned up too high, at 80% about 18 inches away I recently raised it too 20 inches at about 60% (I noticed some leaf burn after I watered because I did not remove the bubbles of water on some leaves that acted like lenses)

I’m using the Aerolight A100 100w grow light

The smallest plant is the White Widow Auto and the other 2 are Northern Lights, one of those plants had stretched exponentially compared to the other and I was also wondering if that is a problem?  I noticed the reddening around the branches too I’m hoping turning down the light intensity will help that. My plan is to veg the Norhtern lights for about 4-5 weeks. In the last photo I’m getting a third top where I topped, will she be viable later or should I snip her? Do you guys have any suggestions for my first grow, how are my plants doing at a glance?  I’m loving the community and very happy to take a step into it 🙂 the grow creators on youtube have shined so much light on this wonderful plant. Hey! Everything looks pretty normal there. I wouldn’t worry if some plants stretch more than others. Yeah they are probably very close to needing a feeding if you put them in those 3gal containers 30 days ago. For the GH flora series, many will start with a 1/2 dose according to the feeding chart; some even start with 1/3 dose to safe side it. After you mix the nutrients into water and water your plant, check the runoff pH and PPM. Below are general ranges to aim for (500 scale TDS tester) for the different stages of growth. Thanks for the chart and tips mrgrowit! heres a little update. I fed them and they’re looking good. I did notice something strange. I got 2 photoperiod northern lights but one of them started flowering, I think. Is that possible without changing my lights to 12/12? I run 18/6 and I have my tent in a closed dark space with no light leaks. I guess it’s also possible they gave me an auto seed.

Might just be pre-flowers. But yeah could be a mixup as well
