Dr. Buckley said the optimum mix is 50% vermiculite, and 50% marks with 40 g of dolomite lime and 10 g of gypsum added per cubic foot. When I went to mix this I wasn’t 100% sure what how much of each substrate to add in order to create one cubic foot. I got a 3 ft.³ bag of peat moss, which actually came out to approximately 46 dry quarts per cubic foot and 4 ft.³ bag of vermiculite on the other hand came out to approximate 18 1/2 dry quarts per cubic foot, so if I were to add 50% of one and 50% of another how do I know when I’m at one cubic foot if they’re both so drastically different ?
thanks
