Hello , I’m new to growing cannabis, I have plenty of plants in my home and outside around my house. However, my first attempt at cannabis was a disaster. I have a VIVOSUN 4X4 tent. It was a kit that included: AeroLight SE 200W LED Grow Light×2 with circulation fans in them; a 6″ AeroZesh S6 Fan; GrowHub E42A Controller; 6″ Black Carbon Filter; 6″ Prefilter. I was starting with feminized Pineapple Express, Do Si Do, Gorilla Glue #4, Girl Scout Cookies, and Top 30%, all photo. I germinated in a wet paper towels then moved them to biodegradable cups with Mother Earth terracraft soil. I had the tent set up to VIVOSUN specific plan for the plants. The lights were about 18” above them and the temperature was between 72 and 80 degrees. I was watering everyday, it seemed they were drying out quickly. I tried in and out of baggies for moisture retention (they were in the seedling stage and had been for about two weeks). The VIVOSUN seedling plan had it at 18 hr light at 60%, circulation was cycled. My humidity stayed around 50% and I’m set up in my basement which stays around 65 to 70 degrees. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I plan on buying more and trying again.

I discarded them, it was a fight I wasn’t winning. They started out good but then one day they would be drooping, they always seemed to be dry. I could stick my finger in the soil about an inch and a half. So I would water them. When I would get home from work I’d check them and again they looked and felt dry. They eventually turned brown and I just chalked it up as a loss. I now have three germinating and I have Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. I believe it was the soil, only because the top layer would be wet and I would have to soak it in order to get any run off.

Keep us posted week by week if you can so we can diagnose it quickly. As far as your setup is concerned, it looks to be ok. Most premade soils will require top dressing at some point.
